Hurricane Milton. Family and friends have asked me about the hurricane experience, and also to post some photos! These are pictures I took "near" our neighborhood, after having the car looked in the garage for 1 1/2 days. Throwback to when I used to direct for Camara Oscura Productions in Ecuador. The day of this shooting was one full of things that didn't work as they supposed. "curiously in this field" First shot and we couldn't set the camera at the right angle. In picture 1, cinematographer Pilar Perdomo, and I discussed how to gain more perspective. It was a very tilted-up shot I remember, but because the dolly was so tight between the stage and the first row of seats in which I appear leaning, the perspective seemed too exaggerated on camera, so much, that we couldn’t see the actor's face, and we couldn’t move the camera backward to gain angle. After a moment of trying to see options, the key grip on the left side of the picture came up to me and said, -"What is the problem, Alfredo?" I said, "We can't get the camera at the right angle, and tilting down does not help" Then he said, -"Do you have time?" I said, - "What for?” And he said, -"Because we can take the whole row of seats off" So I said, -"How much time do you need?" He said, -"15 minutes" To which I responded, - "Do it" They got 2 electric screwdrivers, and at the best Formula One style, they took the whole front row of seats off, and we were finally able to move the dolly back and set up the first shot. Today I look back and think how important is to work with a crew that comes out with solutions that help to solidify the work you finally see on screen. It is always a team effort that produces the magic on the screen.

Entropy. dystopian location scouting. This building evoked me ideas about distant, unclear events that existed in different ways in contexts of which I have not images or related memories to associate with.
